Alphabet Q3 2026 Earnings Preview: Google Cloud, Capex and What to Watch

Alphabet will report Q3 2026 results after the US market closes on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, with the earnings call at 4:30 p.m. ET, which is 4:30 a.m. Beijing time on Thursday, October 29. Analysts expect revenue of about $127.8 billion, up roughly 25% from a year earlier, and Google Cloud revenue of about $29.2 billion. The two numbers that will decide the reaction are Cloud growth and any change to Alphabet's $195 billion to $205 billion capex plan.

When does Alphabet report Q3 2026 earnings?

Alphabet confirmed the date on October 6. Results come out shortly after the 4:00 p.m. ET close on October 28, and the call is streamed live on YouTube via Alphabet Investor Relations. Microsoft reports the same evening.
  • New York (EDT): results after 4:00 p.m. on Wed Oct 28; call at 4:30 p.m.
  • Beijing, Hong Kong, Singapore: results after 4:00 a.m. on Thu Oct 29; call at 4:30 a.m.

What are analysts expecting from Alphabet in Q3 2026?

Alphabet does not give revenue guidance, so expectations come from analysts. Those tracked by Yahoo Finance expect revenue of $127.83 billion and EPS of $3.00, against $102.35 billion and $2.87 a year earlier. Zacks puts Google Cloud revenue at $29.16 billion, up about 92% (Zacks via Yahoo Finance).
  • Revenue: $127.83 billion consensus
  • EPS: $3.00 consensus; reported EPS may be far higher if Alphabet books more gains on its equity investments, as it did in Q1 and Q2
  • Google Cloud: $29.16 billion consensus, after $24.77 billion in Q2
  • 2026 capex guidance: $195 billion to $205 billion, raised in July from $180 billion to $190 billion; Alphabet has said 2027 capex will increase significantly
Google Cloud revenue has grown from $8.4 billion in Q3 2023 to $24.8 billion in Q2 2026, and growth has accelerated for five straight quarters.

What would count as a beat for Alphabet?

Over the last 12 reports, Google Cloud has lined up with the stock's reaction more closely than revenue or EPS. When Cloud beat estimates by 3% or more, GOOGL rose the next day in 4 of 5 reports; the two times Cloud missed by more than 1%, the stock fell more than 7%.
  • Cloud: about $30.0 billion or more would be a 3% beat on the $29.16 billion estimate; below about $28.9 billion would be a 1% miss
  • Capex: in Q2, Cloud beat by about 11% but the stock still fell 7.13% after the capex raise, so another increase above $205 billion is the main risk
  • EPS: compare the figure excluding investment gains with the $3.00 estimate, not the headline number
  • Search and YouTube ads: advertising misses preceded the drops after Q4 2023 and Q2 2024

What happened after Alphabet's last report?

On July 22, 2026, Alphabet reported Q2 revenue of $119.80 billion against the $116.93 billion LSEG estimate, and Google Cloud revenue of $24.77 billion, up 81.8%. Reported EPS of $9.11 included $6.26 from investment gains; excluding them, EPS was about $2.85, slightly below the $2.89 expected (Alphabet Q2 2026 release). Alphabet also raised its 2026 capex guidance, and GOOGL closed 7.13% lower the next day.

How is GOOGL positioned on MEXC before the report?

MEXC's Alphabet perpetual futures contract, GOOGLSTOCK_USDT (1 contract = 0.01 GOOGL), trades 24/7, so it will be open while the results and call land in the Asian early morning. Snapshot at 12:12 p.m. Beijing time on October 27, from the MEXC:
  • Last price: 319.21 USDT, down 0.34% over 24 hours
  • Open interest: about 4.01 million contracts, or roughly 40,000 GOOGL worth about $12.8 million
  • Funding rate: +0.0303%, meaning long positions were paying short positions
After the Q2 report, the contract fell 3.8% in the first hour after the results and was down 6.2% by 30 minutes after the next US open. 24/7 trading lets you place orders outside US market hours, but it does not mean prices are discovered around the clock: liquidity is thinner overnight, and the contract can still gap when the cash market opens.

How do Microsoft and Meta's results set up Alphabet?

Microsoft reports at the same time on October 28, so Azure and Google Cloud growth will be compared directly that night; Microsoft guided Azure growth of 44% to 45%. Meta, which reported on October 21, narrowed its 2026 capex range to $135 billion to $145 billion and fell 6.98% the next day, a reminder of how the market is treating heavy AI spending this season. See the Microsoft earnings date and Meta earnings date pages for both companies' track records.

Hyperliquid ShieldTX Launch: How Much Are Copy-Trading Bots Really Costing Traders?

Avail expanded access to ShieldTX, a privacy-focused trading tool for Hyperliquid, on October 28, 2026, targeting a problem emerging from transparent perpetual futures markets: automated systems can identify successful wallets, monitor their positions, and replicate their trading activity. ShieldTX attempts to reduce this exposure by creating separate wallets for individual positions, making it harder for public observers to connect a trader's broader portfolio with specific transactions. The expanded release remains invitation-based rather than fully open to all users
