Amazon Q3 2026 Earnings Preview: AWS, Operating Income Guidance and What to Watch

Amazon will report Q3 2026 results after the US market closes on Thursday, October 29, 2026, with the earnings call at 5:00 p.m. ET, which is 5:00 a.m. Beijing time on Friday, October 30. Amazon has guided net sales of $197 billion to $202 billion and operating income of $22.5 billion to $26.5 billion, and the consensus sits at the top of that sales range. AWS growth and the Q4 operating income outlook are the two numbers most likely to move the stock.

When does Amazon report Q3 2026 earnings?

Amazon confirmed the date on October 15. Results come out shortly after the 4:00 p.m. ET close on October 29, and the call is webcast on Amazon Investor Relations. Microsoft and Alphabet report the evening before.
  • New York (EDT): results after 4:00 p.m. on Thu Oct 29; call at 5:00 p.m.
  • Beijing, Hong Kong, Singapore: results after 4:00 a.m. on Fri Oct 30; call at 5:00 a.m.
  • London (GMT): results after 8:00 p.m. on Thu Oct 29; call at 9:00 p.m.
For future report dates and every past quarter's results, see our Amazon earnings date page.

What are analysts expecting from Amazon in Q3 2026?

Amazon's own guidance, from its Q2 2026 release, calls for net sales of $197 billion to $202 billion, up 9% to 12%, and operating income of $22.5 billion to $26.5 billion, against $17.4 billion a year earlier. Prime Day fell in Q2 this year but in Q3 last year; excluding it, Amazon says growth would be nearly 4 percentage points higher.
  • Revenue: $202.11 billion Zacks consensus, at the top of Amazon's range (Zacks via Yahoo Finance)
  • EPS: $2.01 consensus; reported EPS can be far higher if Amazon books more gains on its Anthropic stake
  • AWS: analysts quoted ahead of the report expect growth of roughly 30% to 35%, which would put AWS revenue at about $43 billion to $45 billion (Motley Fool)
AWS revenue reached $42.2 billion in Q2 2026, and growth has accelerated for five straight quarters, from 16.9% in Q1 2025 to 36.8%.

What would count as a beat for Amazon?

Over the last 12 reports, the headline beat has not decided Amazon's reaction; AWS and guidance have. The two biggest post-earnings gains came when AWS growth jumped, to 20.2% in Q3 2025 (+9.58%) and 36.8% in Q2 2026 (+15.32%). In the four reports where the next-quarter operating income guidance midpoint came in at least 7% below estimates, the stock fell or was flat every time.
  • AWS growth: 30% to 35% would be the first slowdown since Q1 2025. The last two times AWS growth slowed, after Q4 2024 and Q1 2025, the stock fell the next day. Growth at or above 36.8% would extend the acceleration
  • Q4 operating income guidance: the midpoint against analyst estimates; a gap of 7% or more below has preceded every recent drop
  • Operating income for Q3: against Amazon's own $22.5 billion to $26.5 billion range, since EPS can be distorted by investment gains
  • Capital spending: AI data-center spending and its effect on free cash flow

What happened after Amazon's last report?

On July 30, 2026, Amazon reported Q2 net sales of $200.61 billion, against a $196.47 billion consensus, and AWS revenue of $42.23 billion, up 37%. EPS of $5.75 included $53.4 billion of pre-tax gains, mainly from its Anthropic investment. AMZN closed 15.32% higher the next day at $271.58, its largest post-earnings gain in at least three years.

How is AMZN trading on MEXC before the report?

MEXC's Amazon perpetual futures contract, AMZNSTOCK_USDT (1 contract = 0.01 AMZN), trades 24/7, so it will be open when the results land in the Asian early morning. At 1:00 p.m. Beijing time on October 27, it traded at 249.32 USDT, about 8% below AMZN's close after the Q2 report (MEXC).
After the Q2 report, the contract rose 8.0% in the first hour after the results and was up 10.2% by 3:00 p.m. Beijing time, about two-thirds of the stock's eventual 15.32% gain. 24/7 trading lets you place orders outside US market hours, but it does not mean prices are discovered around the clock: liquidity is thinner overnight, and the contract can still gap when the cash market opens.

How do Microsoft and Alphabet's results set up Amazon?

Microsoft and Alphabet report on the evening of October 28, a day before Amazon, so Azure and Google Cloud growth will set expectations for AWS. Microsoft has guided Azure growth of 44% to 45%, and analysts expect Google Cloud to nearly double. If both clear those bars, the comparison will put more pressure on AWS to keep accelerating. Our Microsoft Q1 FY2027 preview and the Google earnings date page cover both reports.

Hyperliquid ShieldTX Launch: How Much Are Copy-Trading Bots Really Costing Traders?

Avail expanded access to ShieldTX, a privacy-focused trading tool for Hyperliquid, on October 28, 2026, targeting a problem emerging from transparent perpetual futures markets: automated systems can identify successful wallets, monitor their positions, and replicate their trading activity. ShieldTX attempts to reduce this exposure by creating separate wallets for individual positions, making it harder for public observers to connect a trader's broader portfolio with specific transactions. The expanded release remains invitation-based rather than fully open to all users
