Taiko Achieves 100% ZK Coverage, Slashes Mainnet Finality to 2s

Taiko's 2025 milestones include 100% zero-knowledge (ZK) proof coverage, 2-second finality, and DAO governance, solidifying its position as a leader in Ethereum scaling.

Taiko Achieves 100% ZK Coverage, Slashes Mainnet Finality to 2s

Taiko Labs has wrapped up an impressive 2025 by proving that high-speed, fully decentralized Ethereum scaling is not just theoretical. The protocol achieved 100% zero-knowledge (ZK) proof coverage for all mainnet blocks and slashed preconfirmation times to a mere two seconds. These milestones position Taiko as a leader in the race to optimize Ethereum's scalability without compromising decentralization.

Sub-2-Second Finality: A Major Milestone

In Q3 2025, Taiko activated preconfirmations on its mainnet, reducing confirmation times from around 45 seconds to just two seconds. This was enabled by a series of upgrades, including the Pacaya hardfork and the deployment of batch-based proofs and multiproving across the network. Strategic partnerships with OpenZeppelin, Fabric, Nethermind, and Commit-Boost also played a key role in creating advanced validator tooling and preconfirmation standards.

The result? Users experienced transaction speeds 20-30 times faster without relying on centralized sequencers. "The future doesn’t choose between speed and decentralization—it has both," Taiko Labs stated in its year-end update.

100% ZK Proof Coverage

By December 2025, Taiko achieved full ZK proof coverage for every block on its mainnet. This accomplishment, delivered via its multi-prover system (SP1 and Boundless), ensures enhanced security and redundancy for the network. Starting at just 5% ZK coverage in February, Taiko scaled to 100% by Q4, processing over 847 million cumulative transactions in the first half of the year alone.

ZK proofs are critical for blockchain scalability, offering cryptographic guarantees of transaction validity without leaking any sensitive data. Achieving full coverage makes Taiko one of the most secure and efficient rollups operating on Ethereum.

Governance That Matters

In parallel with its technical milestones, Taiko also launched a functional DAO governance system. By October, the community had gained veto power over protocol upgrades via binding on-chain governance. The Taiko DAO includes a Security Council featuring experts like Joy Lam (former Head of Regulatory at Binance) and Professor Felix Oberholzer-Gee (Harvard Business School), ensuring robust oversight.

Strategic Partnerships and Ecosystem Growth

2025 was also a year of ecosystem expansion. Partnerships with Chainlink, Dune Analytics, and ENS brought advanced oracle data, real-time analytics, and Ethereum's naming infrastructure to the Taiko stack. Additionally, TaikoSwap, a native DEX, launched with liquidity pools for ETH/USDC, TAIKO/USDC, and TAIKO/ETH pairs. Meanwhile, the protocol processed over 909 million transactions and attracted 2.3 million active addresses.

Key collaborations included:

  • Chainlink Data Streams for sub-second market data integration
  • ENS adopting Taiko’s stack for Namechain, Ethereum’s critical naming infrastructure
  • Avalon Labs deploying institutional-grade RWA and stablecoin solutions on Taiko

What’s Next for Taiko?

Looking ahead, Taiko is gearing up for its Stage 2 rollup maturity. The roadmap includes the launch of the Gwyneth testnet in 2026, enabling synchronous composability between Ethereum and Layer 2 platforms without bridges or delays. This development could redefine how Ethereum networks interact, eliminating friction in cross-chain transactions.

With a combination of speed, security, and decentralization, Taiko is setting a high bar for Ethereum scaling solutions. As the team put it, "Based rollups work. Decentralized sequencing works. Full ZK coverage works. All without compromise."

The post Franklin Templeton CEO Dismisses 50bps Rate Cut Ahead FOMC appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Franklin Templeton CEO Jenny Johnson has weighed in on whether the Federal Reserve should make a 25 basis points (bps) Fed rate cut or 50 bps cut. This comes ahead of the Fed decision today at today’s FOMC meeting, with the market pricing in a 25 bps cut. Bitcoin and the broader crypto market are currently trading flat ahead of the rate cut decision. Franklin Templeton CEO Weighs In On Potential FOMC Decision In a CNBC interview, Jenny Johnson said that she expects the Fed to make a 25 bps cut today instead of a 50 bps cut. She acknowledged the jobs data, which suggested that the labor market is weakening. However, she noted that this data is backward-looking, indicating that it doesn’t show the current state of the economy. She alluded to the wage growth, which she remarked is an indication of a robust labor market. She added that retail sales are up and that consumers are still spending, despite inflation being sticky at 3%, which makes a case for why the FOMC should opt against a 50-basis-point Fed rate cut. In line with this, the Franklin Templeton CEO said that she would go with a 25 bps rate cut if she were Jerome Powell. She remarked that the Fed still has the October and December FOMC meetings to make further cuts if the incoming data warrants it. Johnson also asserted that the data show a robust economy. However, she noted that there can’t be an argument for no Fed rate cut since Powell already signaled at Jackson Hole that they were likely to lower interest rates at this meeting due to concerns over a weakening labor market. Notably, her comment comes as experts argue for both sides on why the Fed should make a 25 bps cut or…
