State law enforcement found the dead body of a Republican Oklahoma state Senate candidate in the trunk of his own car, according to reports.
Barry Christian, 54, was found dead on Thursday, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigations told media outlets including News9. Christian disappeared Tuesday and was reported missing the next day after being absent from a meeting, local media reported.

Christian's car was found on the side of the road on Thursday afternoon, according to OSBI.
Christian's daughter, Brooklyn, said, "Our world is upside down right now," in a public statement.
“We are still not sure of everything that happened, so please act with grace and treat my dad’s legacy with dignity," she said. "We’re extremely grateful for everyone who assisted in the search efforts, and all of the media outlets that shared his information. I know there will be lots of people devastated by his passing.”
