MANILA, Philippines – Commuters in Metro Manila may soon enjoy free rides on electric Love Buses, with routes planned around malls and business districts in Quezon City and Pasig City.

The project is a partnership between the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) and Global Electric Transport Philippines (GET Philippines).

“Through this partnership, we are introducing fully electric buses that are cleaner, quieter, and more modern. These buses will help reduce pollution, ease congestion along key routes, and provide a more comfortable riding experience for passengers,” MMDA Chairperson Don Artes said.

GET Philippines, led by former Taguig City mayor Sigfrido Tinga, will handle the operations and maintenance of the electric buses, while the MMDA will oversee route management, enforcement support, infrastructure assistance, and alignment with public service goals.

The 30-passenger electric Love Bus is expected to launch in the last week of April or the first week of May. Here are the initial routes:

The MMDA said it also plans to expand the service to other Metro Manila cities.

Marcos also launched the Love Bus in Cebu and Davao in August 2025, but offering free rides only during rush hours.
