Hamzah Zainudin names Parti Wawasan Negara as Reset’s political platform

KUALA LUMPUR, June 13 — Former Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) deputy president Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin today announced that he and the Reset movement would operate under Parti Wawasan Negara, describing it as a platform for cooperation with PAS and other like-minded parties.

Speaking at the Reset convention in Tanah Merah, Kelantan, the Larut MP said the party’s name had been proposed by PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang.

“Many people have asked me which party I, together with Reset, will be under. Here, I wish to announce that I will be with Parti Wawasan Negara.

“The name was given by Ayah Chik (Abdul Hadi).

“This party has just been born and is still taking its first steps. We want to work together with PAS, Gerakan and other parties. Insya-Allah, we will come together to build a consensus,” he said, as reported by Kosmo! Online.

Sinar Harian reported that Hamzah said Parti Wawasan Negara was intended to strengthen political cooperation among parties that shared similar aspirations.

“We want to come together to forge a more comprehensive political understanding and cooperation.

“We will build a strength akin to a ‘well-structured building’ for the future agenda of the Malaysian people,” he said.

He added that such cooperation was necessary to create a more organised and stable political force capable of addressing current challenges.

According to Berita Harian, Reset organisers said the convention drew about 20,000 supporters.

The convention was officiated by Abdul Hadi and attended by Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Mohd Nassuruddin Daud, Perikatan Nasional chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar, Hamzah, who heads Reset Malaysia, and Gerakan president Datuk Dominic Lau.
