KUALA LUMPUR, June 28 — Rising rider Muhammad Hakim Danish Ramli’s hopes of securing another podium finish was dashed when he had to settle for seventh place at the Moto3 Grand Prix Championship in the Netherlands at the TT Circuit Assen today.
The AEON Credit-MT Helmets-MSi rider, who started the race from 16th on the grid, initially showcased a spirited performance to stay within the top three pack throughout the 25-lap race.
With five laps remaining, the 18-year-old Muhammad Hakim lost his momentum before being overtaken by other riders, subsequently crossing the finish line in seventh place with a time of 4.475 seconds behind race winner Maximo Quiles of Spain, who clocked 33 minutes 51.80 seconds.
David Almansa finished the race in second place, 0.513 seconds behind Quiles, while Marco Morelli completed the podium line-up in third place.
The result nevertheless allows Muhammad Hakim Danish to collect nine points, placing him sixth in the Moto3 standings with a cumulative total of 82 points. — Bernama
