What Families Should Ask Before Hiring a Home Caregiver in Long Branch, NJ

Comfort Keepers of Monmouth and Northern Ocean Counties, led by owner Jim Winn, has supported seniors and local families for more than 20 years with in-home care services designed to promote safety, comfort, and peace of mind. Hiring a caregiver is an important decision, and asking the right questions can help families find someone who is not only qualified but also a good match for their loved one’s personality and needs.

Essential Questions to Ask a Caregiver

When interviewing potential caregivers, families should cover key areas such as qualifications, experience, and availability. Important questions include:

  • What certifications or training do you hold, such as CHHA credentials? This helps families confirm the caregiver has formal education and hands-on training to provide safe, competent care for seniors.
  • How many years of caregiving experience do you have, and have you worked with seniors in similar health conditions? Understanding their experience gives insight into their ability to manage specific needs, from mobility challenges to chronic conditions.
  • Are you comfortable assisting with personal care, meal preparation, mobility support, and medication reminders? Asking this clarifies what tasks they can perform daily, helping families plan support without overburdening the caregiver or the senior.
  • What is your availability for shifts, including live-in options if needed? This question ensures the caregiver’s schedule aligns with the family’s needs, whether for part-time, full-time, or live-in care.
  • Are you able to drive to appointments or errands if required? For seniors who need transportation to medical appointments or errands, it’s important to confirm whether the caregiver can provide safe, reliable transportation.
  • How do you handle emergencies or unexpected situations? Understanding a caregiver’s approach to urgent situations reassures families that their loved one will be safe in unforeseen circumstances.
  • Can you provide references from previous clients? Speaking with past clients allows families to hear firsthand about the caregiver’s reliability, professionalism, and interpersonal skills.

Finding the Right Personality Fit

Beyond skills and experience, personality fit is critical for a positive caregiver-senior relationship. Families should ask questions like:

  • How do you build trust and rapport with seniors?
  • What are your hobbies or interests that might engage a senior in conversation or activities?
  • How do you approach emotional support and companionship?

By assessing both qualifications and interpersonal skills, families can be confident that the caregiver will provide attentive, compassionate care while promoting independence.

Cryptos Signal Divergence Ahead of Fed Rate Decision

The post Cryptos Signal Divergence Ahead of Fed Rate Decision appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Crypto assets send conflicting signals ahead of the Federal Reserve’s September rate decision. On-chain data reveals a clear decrease in Bitcoin and Ethereum flowing into centralized exchanges, but a sharp increase in altcoin inflows. The findings come from a Tuesday report by CryptoQuant, an on-chain data platform. The firm’s data shows a stark divergence in coin volume, which has been observed in movements onto centralized exchanges over the past few weeks. Bitcoin and Ethereum Inflows Drop to Multi-Month Lows Sponsored Sponsored Bitcoin has seen a dramatic drop in exchange inflows, with the 7-day moving average plummeting to 25,000 BTC, its lowest level in over a year. The average deposit per transaction has fallen to 0.57 BTC as of September. This suggests that smaller retail investors, rather than large-scale whales, are responsible for the recent cash-outs. Ethereum is showing a similar trend, with its daily exchange inflows decreasing to a two-month low. CryptoQuant reported that the 7-day moving average for ETH deposits on exchanges is around 783,000 ETH, the lowest in two months. Other Altcoins See Renewed Selling Pressure In contrast, other altcoin deposit activity on exchanges has surged. The number of altcoin deposit transactions on centralized exchanges was quite steady in May and June of this year, maintaining a 7-day moving average of about 20,000 to 30,000. Recently, however, that figure has jumped to 55,000 transactions. Altcoins: Exchange Inflow Transaction Count. Source: CryptoQuant CryptoQuant projects that altcoins, given their increased inflow activity, could face relatively higher selling pressure compared to BTC and ETH. Meanwhile, the balance of stablecoins on exchanges—a key indicator of potential buying pressure—has increased significantly. The report notes that the exchange USDT balance, around $273 million in April, grew to $379 million by August 31, marking a new yearly high. CryptoQuant interprets this surge as a reflection of…
