The third week of March 2026 is marking a high velocity shift in how capital moves across the decentralized sector. While established market leaders are navigating a period of sideways momentum, a fresh wave of interest is hitting a specific pocket of the Ethereum network. This movement is foreshadowing a period where the market rewards technical delivery and verified utility over simple social media trends. As the industry matures, the search for high capacity engines and early entry points has become a central theme for those tracking the next phase of growth. This transition suggests that the era of early discovery is giving way to a period where the market focuses on protocols that move from conceptual plans to active testing. One specific project is now drawing intense interest as it builds a technical foundation for long term expansion.

Shiba Inu (SHIB)

Shiba Inu remains one of the most recognized names in the sector, but its recent performance reflects the challenges of a maturing asset. As of March 17, 2026, the price of SHIB is hovering near $0.0000062. This follows a period of heavy volatility where the token struggled to maintain its earlier momentum. The market capitalization for Shiba Inu currently sits at approximately $3.65 billion. While this makes it a top tier project by size, it also highlights a significant barrier for future growth.

3 Reasons This $0.04 Crypto Could Outperform Shiba Inu (SHIB)

Technically, SHIB is facing heavy resistance levels that have repeatedly rejected price rallies. The most immediate wall is at $0.0000065, with a much stronger psychological barrier at $0.0000072. On the downside, the token has been testing a critical support zone near $0.0000055. Some analysts have issued a bearish price prediction for the remainder of 2026, suggesting that without a massive increase in burn rates or network usage, SHIB could continue to drift lower. In a worst case scenario, experts warn the price could slide toward the $0.0000045 level, as the lack of new utility fails to attract fresh capital to offset the high circulating supply.

Mutuum Finance (MUTM)

As investors look for higher velocity opportunities, Mutuum Finance (MUTM) is emerging as a primary alternative. The project is building a professional hub for non custodial borrowing and lending on the Ethereum network. It aims to remove the friction found in traditional models by offering a dual marketplace where users can either supply funds into automated pools or negotiate direct agreements. This approach prioritizes mechanical efficiency and transparency, providing a structured environment for capital management.

The project is currently in its seventh phase of community distribution, with the price set at $0.04. The total supply is capped at 4 billion tokens, and the team has reserved 45.5% or 1.82 billion tokens specifically for the early community. So far, the project has raised over $20.8 million, supported by a global base of more than 19,200 individual holders. This phase allows participants to secure tokens before the confirmed launch price of $0.06, representing an immediate 50% jump in value upon release.

3 Reasons Why MUTM Could Outperform SHIB

1. Market Cap Dynamics and Growth Room

The first reason centers on the law of large numbers. Shiba Inu already commands a multi-billion dollar market cap. For SHIB to double in value, it would need to attract billions of dollars in new liquidity, which is difficult in the current market. It cannot easily replicate its early surges because it has already reached a state of high saturation. By contrast, Mutuum Finance is at an early stage of growth. Because its current valuation is much lower, small amounts of capital inflow can lead to much larger percentage gains. This provides far more room for the price to expand as the protocol gains wider adoption.

2. Utility Focus vs. Hype Reliance

The second reason is the shift from meme culture to functional utility. Shiba Inu originated as a hype-driven token, and while it has added features like Shibarium, its price is still heavily tied to social sentiment. Mutuum Finance is built entirely around utility from day one. It utilizes mtTokens, which are interest-bearing receipts that users receive when they supply liquidity. These tokens grow in value automatically, providing a clear reason to hold the asset. Additionally, the protocol uses a buy-and-distribute model, where platform fees are used to buy back MUTM tokens and distribute them to the community, creating a constant cycle of demand that is not dependent on social media trends.

3. Strategic Timing and V1 Momentum

The third reason involves the current phase of the market cycle. Many early Shiba Inu investors are now switching their focus to MUTM as they see strong presale momentum. The announcement of the V1 protocol launching on the testnet has acted as a major catalyst. This working version has already handled over $230 million in simulated volume, proving that the team can deliver on its technical promises. As SHIB holders look for the next “utility leader” of 2026, the transition to a protocol with a functional lending engine and a clear roadmap for scaling offers a more predictable path for capital growth.

Phase 7 and Protocol Security

The sense of urgency in the market is visible as Phase 7 of the MUTM distribution is selling out quickly. This demand is driven by the project’s technical readiness and its commitment to safety. The protocol has completed a full manual audit by Halborn, a firm known for reviewing the most complex financial code. It also holds a high safety score of 90/100 from CertiK, confirming that the automated pools and borrowing mechanisms are built to professional standards.

To keep the community engaged, the platform features a 24 hour leaderboard that rewards the top daily participant with a $500 bonus in tokens every day. Joining the project is designed to be straightforward for a global audience, as the secure portal supports various cryptocurrencies and direct MUTM payment options through cards.

Bubblemaps: The top five traders in STBL token trading volume are interconnected and have made profits exceeding $10 million

Bubblemaps: The top five traders in STBL token trading volume are interconnected and have made profits exceeding $10 million

PANews reported on September 18th that blockchain analytics platform Bubblemaps published an article on the X platform claiming that Tether co-founder Reeve Collins had just launched a new token, STBL. However, the top five traders are suspiciously interconnected and have profited over $10 million. Collins launched STBL yesterday, a new stablecoin system built around three tokens: USST (stablecoin), YLD (yield token supporting USST), and STBL (governance token). An analysis of the top five traders by STBL trading volume revealed that these five profit-makers received capital injections at the same time. Tracing the source of their funds revealed a clear connection: the funds all came from the same source (injected via Tornado Cash); bots were used to borrow USDC from the Venus Protocol; and the total profit exceeded $10 million. However, there is no evidence that these traders are connected to the core team. In fact, this group of bots has a history of extracting value from other tokens, not just STBL.

Coinbase Vs. State Regulators: Crypto Exchange Fights Legal Fragmentation

Coinbase Vs. State Regulators: Crypto Exchange Fights Legal Fragmentation

US-based crypto exchange Coinbase has made a significant appeal to the Department of Justice (DOJ) regarding a wave of lawsuits aimed at its operations. The company is urging federal action to address what it describes as an “increasingly fragmented and hostile” regulatory landscape for the crypto market. Coinbase Urges Federal Action  In a recent letter, Coinbase highlighted the steps taken by the current Administration to create a more equitable framework for digital asset regulation. This includes the introduction of stablecoin legislation and two pending bipartisan market-structure bills aimed at fostering uniformity in the oversight of cryptocurrencies.  Coinbase argues that these initiatives have begun to mitigate the adverse effects of the previous Administration’s enforcement-driven regulatory approach.  However, the company warns that certain states are perpetuating this problematic trend by adopting “expansive and flawed” interpretations of securities laws and implementing new licensing requirements that undermine the federal government’s pro-innovation stance. Related Reading: REX Shares Claims Its DOGE And XRP Spot ETFs Will Be Approved By US SEC Tomorrow They make an example with the Oregon Attorney General, who has filed a lawsuit against Coinbase, claiming that many digital assets traded on its platform qualify as alleged unregistered securities.  The letter affirms that the suit not only targets Coinbase but also encourages other states to address what the Attorney General perceives as a regulatory gap left by federal authorities.  Similarly, the New York Attorney General has initiated legal action to regulate transactions involving digital assets based on decentralized protocols as securities, further complicating the regulatory environment. Coinbase has faced cease-and-desist orders from four states, which demand the company halt its retail staking services. These orders are deemed by Coinbase as “legally unfounded and inconsistent.” Unified Framework For Digital Assets In light of these challenges, the letter to the DOJ calls for urgent federal intervention to establish broad preemption provisions. The crypto exchange argues that preemption has historically been an effective tool for addressing state interference in national markets, referencing past Congressional actions. Coinbase contends that the current patchwork of state regulations not only disrupts market efficiency but also leads to unequal access to cryptocurrency services based on geographic location. Related Reading: Citi’s Ethereum Forecast: No New All-Time High Expected, Year-End Target At $4,300 To remedy these issues, Coinbase advocates for Congress to adopt legislation that would exempt federally regulated digital assets from state blue-sky laws and clarify that state licensing requirements do not apply to crypto intermediaries.  Additionally, the company urges the SEC to expedite rulemaking and provide clearer guidance on why digital asset transactions and services, including staking, should not be classified as securities. Such clarity would help prevent states from imposing conflicting regulations based on their interpretations of securities laws. Featured image from Shutterstock, chart from TradingView.com
