LT GROUP, Inc. (LTG) has completed the transition of its key operating companies to renewable energy through a power supply partnership with Lopez-led First Gen Corp.

In a statement on Wednesday, First Gen said LTG’s affiliate companies have successfully shifted to renewable energy under their power supply agreement.

The agreement covers Philippine Airlines, Inc. (PAL), Lufthansa Technik Philippines, MacroAsia SATS Food Industries Corp., MacroAsia Catering Services, Inc. (MACS), Grandspan Development Corp., and Absolut Distillers, Inc.

First Gen said it has begun supplying more than 21 megawatts (MW) of geothermal power capacity from its Tongonan geothermal power plant in Leyte to LTG’s affiliate companies.

“As we continue to grow, we want to do so in a responsible and prudent way. This partnership is just the beginning of our broader efforts to ensure a reliable energy supply for businesses across the Group. Ultimately, our goal is to create meaningful economic and environmental impact, helping build a more resilient future for both people and the planet,” LTG President Lucio C. Tan III said.

The company said more than 8 MW of geothermal power has been allocated to six projects of its real estate arm, Eton Properties Philippines, Inc.

More than 3 MW has been allocated to PAL’s maintenance base complex, inflight center, and Lucio K. Tan, Jr. Center headquarters in Pasay City.

Another 3.9 MW has been earmarked for Lufthansa Technik Philippines’ aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul facilities; 1.8 MW for the inflight and corporate catering facilities of MACS; 2.7 MW for the bioethanol production plant of Absolut Distillers; and 700 kilowatts (kW) for construction and steel fabrication company Grandspan Development Corp.

“The fulfillment of this partnership sends a powerful message that companies across aviation, real estate, manufacturing, and hospitality can lead the way towards a low-carbon future,” First Gen President and Chief Operating Officer Francis Giles B. Puno said.

As of the end of 2025, First Gen had 1,764.2 MW of installed renewable energy capacity from hydro, geothermal, solar, and wind facilities nationwide. — Sheldeen Joy Talavera
