Dow Jones soars 580 points on third straight Fed rate cut

The post Dow Jones soars 580 points on third straight Fed rate cut appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) climbed on Wednesday after the Federal Reserve (Fed) delivered its third straight quarter-point rate cut, lifting the Dow by over 1.2% and nudging the S&P 500 higher while the Nasdaq hovered near flat. The move lowered the federal funds rate to 3.50%–3.75% and was paired with renewed short-term bond buying, which pushed 2-year Treasury yields down. Markets interpreted the Fed’s acknowledgment of a softening labor market as a sign it may prioritize supporting jobs, even as inflation remains a concern. Fed’s Powell: The division is between holding rates steady from here vs. cutting Although the Fed projected only one cut for next year, Chair Jerome Powell signaled that rate hikes are essentially off the table, a stance traders welcomed. Futures markets reacted immediately, pricing in a strong chance of two or more cuts in 2026. Stocks had drifted sideways heading into this final meeting of the year, but the Fed’s decision aligned with expectations and helped stabilize sentiment. The S&P 500 (SP500) now sits less than 1% below its late-October record after rebounding from a volatile November sparked by earlier mixed Fed signals. Fed projects only 50 bps of additional rate cuts; lifts GDP forecasts Regional banks were standout performers, with the KRE ETF and major regional lenders jumping more than 2% as falling rates boosted hopes for stronger lending activity. The rate decision was not unanimous: for the first time since 2019, three Fed members broke away from consensus, highlighting ongoing policy uncertainty. Overall, however, the broader market still welcomed clarity that further easing is more likely than tightening. AVAX 2020–2021 Breakout Insight Investors have been tracking Mutuum Finance (MUTM) closely as early presale dynamics resemble historic breakout cycles. Avalanche in 2020–2021 provides a notable reference point because it transformed from a little-known new crypto coin trading near $2.80 at its lowest to a peak near $144 within roughly 14 months, generating more than 5,000% ROI.  That surge rewarded early participants who entered ahead of its ecosystem expansion. This comparison strengthens interest in Mutuum Finance (MUTM) as traders evaluate what crypto to buy today for long-term positioning and identify the next big cryptocurrency that may progress through a similar curve. The key difference remains clear, AVAX grew during its early development stage while Mutuum Finance (MUTM) is entering the market with a structured presale, a defined launch roadmap, and an emerging DeFi crypto utility that is already drawing consistent participation. Michael Saylor Takes Action on Issue That Could Bring Disaster to Bitcoin

The post Michael Saylor Takes Action on Issue That Could Bring Disaster to Bitcoin appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) has given a strong response to the critical MSCI advisory process that could determine the fate of companies holding Bitcoin (BTC) as a strategic asset on their balance sheets. The company submitted its formal opinion against MSCI’s proposed plan to remove Digital Asset Treasury Companies (DATs) from its Global Investable Market Indexes, arguing that the proposal is “arbitrary, discriminatory and policy-driven.” It is estimated that there could be an $8 billion asset outflow if Strategy is delisted from the indices. In a detailed letter to MSCI, Strategy emphasized that DATs are not mutual funds, but rather operate as operational companies. The company stated, “DATs are not passive Bitcoin funds; they actively use Bitcoin to create value for shareholders.” Strategy also noted that it is currently developing innovative Bitcoin-backed digital lending products, similar to those historically offered by banks and insurance companies. Strategy argued that MSCI’s proposed rule of “exclusion from the index if 50% of the balance sheet is comprised of digital assets” is a discriminatory practice specific to this sector. The company pointed out that other companies concentrated in a single asset class, such as oil, gold, real estate, or media, do not receive such treatment. The letter also stated that the rule in question was practically unenforceable: fluctuations in asset prices, different accounting rules, and international reporting differences would cause DATs to constantly enter and exit the index, leading to instability. Strategy stated that MSCI’s mission is to reflect financial markets impartially, but the proposal targets a specific asset type and incorporates policy elements into the index methodology. This, they argued, would undermine MSCI’s role as an impartial index provider and create confusion for investors. The company argued that the proposal contradicted the US goal of leadership in digital asset technologies and would undermine investment…
